We start kindergarten on Monday. I'm nervous. Not that I'm going to be losing my little baby, oh no that's not it at all. What I'm nervous about is how in the world I am going to get myself and my children up, cleaned, dressed and fed by 7:30 in the morning. This is going to be difficult for everyone in this family, considering we don't usually roll out of bed until 7:30 and don't usually eat breakfast until about 8:30. During the summer months, I've been able to make big elaborate breakfasts for the family. Pancakes, english muffins with sausage and cheese {aka Sausage McMuffin}, biscuits, etc. and yes, sometimes I make all of the above because different folks like different things, and over time I have become a pushover short order cook. I desperately needed to come up with something quick and easy that the whole family would enjoy that wouldn't require me to get myself up at 5am.
I think this smoothie is just the ticket. When I first asked my son to taste test it, he did his usual <sniff sniff> and proceeded to take a swig. Then another. Then he asked if he could have the whole thing. Score!! Part of me felt guilty drinking mine because it tasted so good and usually if something tastes really good, it can't also be really good for you. Not this baby. This is everything my kids, husband and I need to get our day started off right.
I guess once the peaches are gone, I'll have to replace them with another something in season....
