Strawberry Ice Cream

I've never actually made strawberry ice cream before and when I went searching for recipes, I couldn't find anything that gave me simple, easy and quick results.  Some wanted the strawberries to cook in sugar syrup and wait overnight and others seem to have measurements that didn't seem quite right to me.  I just wanted to throw the beautiful berries into the machine with some cream and be done with it.  That being said, I didn't take many photos, but you really won't need them this recipe is so easy (if you have an ice cream maker) and absolutely the best strawberry ice cream I've had.   My husband is on a sugar strike right now, but even he can't keep his spoon out this deliciousness.... I hope you enjoy it as much as we are!

Ingredients:

1/2 cup half-n-half
1/2 cup milk (I used 2% but whole will do I'm sure)
2/3 cup granulated white sugar
1 cup heavy whipping cream
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced

Directions:

In a medium bowl, mix first three ingredients with a whisk until sugar is dissolved, about 3 minutes.  Add cream and vanilla, stirring well.  Add strawberries and put mixture into ice cream maker, following the manufacturer's instructions.   My ice cream churned for about 25 minutes.  Transfer ice cream to airtight container and store in the freezer until firm and you are ready to devour!
